I’m a Christian, you Fuckers

All kinds of Christians are getting mad about my Sarah Palin comments, and it is pissing me off.

First of all you – you fucking fake Christians – don’t fucking question my Christianity. I grew up in the church. My grandfather was a minister, who is with God now and talks to me in my dreams from God’s corner office. I am a former Sunday school teacher. I taught the Bible to children and showed them how to love God and invite him into their hearts. I believe in God – but I don’t fear him. God is my best friend. God is my ally. God is my boyfriend. God is my best fag. I am God’s fag hag cuz didn’t you know, God is a big fag. Serious bottom too. Butch in the streets, femme in the sheets. That is my God. God is my biggest fan. God gets me, dude.

God wants us all to just get along. He doesn’t give a shit about the profanity. The bitch fucking invented profanity. He thinks it is hilarious. He just wants you to talk to him, and he doesn’t care what you have to say. He just wants to keep the conversation going. Like Jay-Z, he just wants to love you. He just wants you to be able to make your own decisions. God is all about you and what you need. God is happy that you are gay. God made you fucking gay cuz he thinks it is awesome. God understands if you need to have an abortion. That is why he created abortion, on the 8th day. God accepts. God forgives. God loves all of us, even though some of us might have a problem with each other.

Don’t fucking question my Christianity you fucking idiot assholes. If you continue to have a problem, then talk to God about it, not me, you fucking racist homophobic misogynist fake Christian shitheads. God thinks it is funny that I swear so much. He said I could use his name in vain or whatever. He just wants me to use it. He loves me. So fuck you. And I guess he loves you too. Even though you are fake Christian assholes. If you were truly Christians, you would let gays get married, and send them fucking presents from Bed Bath and Beyond!

If you truly believed in Jesus, you would try to be like him and love us, fags and dykes and feminists all. God bless you, even you. You fucking fuckers.

  1. I only wish more people in this world thought like you. I agree with you completely. People talk about all this stuff being “wrong” but in the end it is their opinion. The Bible has some good stuff, and good ideas, but really, it’s outdated as all hell and it DOES get changed. Do people honestly think it has remained the same over thousands of years and multiple translations? Like many above people noted, it also mentions things like slavery being good and tattoos being bad and all this stuff that is just, well, outdated.

I would never dare to question your Christianity. It is not my place to judge. I don’t remember where in the Bible it is, but it TELLS YOU TO LET GOD JUDGE. I don’t think he’s going to whoop your ass in the end, but if you did do anything wrong, he’s the one that should be telling you. People who try to tear you down for your beliefs are just Extremist, Hypocritical fucks who think they are better than everyone else. Why do they think They and they alone know what makes you a good Christian? Fuck em.

You keep doing your thing girl. You are my inspiration.

  2. Your parents must be so proud!!! So bashing Christians is ok for our beliefs but we can’t have an opinion on anything or we are wrong and judgmental. What happened to “Equality for Everyone”? I don’t judge anyone, it isn’t my place. If more people were really compassionate and loving towards “everyone” all this bashing nonsense would stop.
What the world needs now is love sweet love, it’s the only thing that theres just too little of.
Who knew how true those words would really be!!!

  3. Nice rant!

So many “Christians” are more interested in pointing out what someone else’s sins are, they forget about their own. I might not agree with everything you said, but you make a very good point – it’s not up to other people, Christian or not, to judge you. That’s God’s job.

God called us to be witnesses, and all he got was lawyers.

    God bless.

  4. There is such thing as right and wrong and nothing you write or say can change it. We all have to face God one day and you will have to explain what you have just put on your website unless you seek God’s forgivness now. Some of it is wrong and you know it. God is all about love and forgivness to all – that’s all of us, because we all sin daily. But if you don’t recognise your sin (killing your unborn child), then you’re in real trouble. I hope you do realise your sin, because Jesus came here not to condemn, but to lead people back to God.

  5. I am:

    Mexican/American
    Female
    Bisexual (with a gf now)
    Catholic

and agree with you fully… That is a bit too much swearing for me, but sometimes you just got to bring it out there and rattle people out of their conventionalism…THANK YOU B/C YOU MADE ME FEEL HAPPY FOR THE PERSON THAT I AM AND REMINDS ME THAT GOD DOES LOVE ME!

    Amen!

  6. Its really sad to see how many people are still so blind.

Wake up people: if you’d even study and see how the books of the Bible were compiled and written, you’d be convinced you could not believe it literally word for word and your very faith will start to unravel.

Why is it that Christians always bring up the Leviticus verse about homosexuality when defending their anti homo stance, then when someone brings up other ridiculous verses in Leviticus, they’re like “Oh but God abolished that in Acts, when he had a conversation with Peter releasing the Christians from the old customs.” OK, so why does that apply to seafood and all the other stupid silly traditions we didn’t want to keep up, but not homosexuality? That makes no sense whatsoever. You can’t just pick and choose what you’re going to believe in when it comes to the Bible, yet most do that very thing. Either Leviticus is still 100% relevant and you’re going to follow it to the word, or you dont. One or the other. And I say that because Christ released us from the old customs. Either you believe in all of them still, or you dont.

I notice the same people using Leviticus as their authority, do not wear long beards, and they trim the end of them. That was illegal in the days of Leviticus. Also, women were unclean and could not touch anything while on their menstrual cycle. Also, sacrifices were used constantly to atone for sins. Where’s PETA when you need ’em? I don’t see any of you sacrificing two small doves because you touched a man while you were on your period. I also don’t see you justifying cutting off a woman’s hand because she grabbed your opponents “junk” in a fight. Yes, that’s in the Bible. I also don’t see these people loudly proclaiming God’s laws on the spoils of war, as laid out in Leviticus, how to divy up the women and virgins.

If you haven’t realized yet that the people’s laws of that time are completely ridiculous by today’s standards, and therefore, we can’t be expected to keep those laws, then you’re crazy, pure and simple. I’m not going to take my cues as to what’s right and wrong from a book of the Bible that is more misogynistic than China’s decision that icy rivers were the perfect place for unwanted female newborns. Honestly, the God of the New Testament pretty much hates women. What do I want with a God like that, anyway?

As for profanity, Jesus DOES rebuke Peter for cursing, and gives the indication he does not like it. However, this would not stop me in the least. He was talking about actually cursing people, which profanity does not always do. I would imagine its more of a sin to say “I curse you” than “Fuck you”.

  7. I’m not Christian but your kind of God is fucking amazing.
I would let your God cut in front of me in the single formation line in da club in the Gaybourhood.
I would subscribe to your God’s RSS feed.
I would give your God the use my 50% staff discount at American Apparel.
If you still taught Sunday school I would regsiter.

  8. I had to respond to this, because I fucking love it. This is the best attitude towards Christianity ever. My Grandma taught me that being Christian means, above all, being a non-judgemental and loving person. Thank you, Margaret Cho, I love you for writing this.

  9. I’m an atheist but shit, girl, that fucking rocked! I’m surrounded by ‘fundies’, those asshat fundamentalist christians that live by the ‘think like me or be damned’ attitude that is beyond vile! They were the one’s that stoned people like me and you in the dark ages, they burnt us, the drowned us, they literally killed people who had the balls to think for themselves.
Asshats, all of em. (Asshat: someone who has their head so far up their own ass they are now wearing it as a hat. You know, like Sarah Palin and Donald Trump)

  10. I am a christian, I believe that God loves us all, I think that gay people should be allowed to be married. But, I do believe that everyone has the right to their own opinion just like yourself, if someone does not agree with you it does not mean that they are bad. This world would be pretty boring if we all agreed on everything, if that was the case you would not have much to write about in your blog.
The only thing I have to say about your recent blog is I don’t understand why you have to use the word fuck in every sentence. I think you could have gotten your message acrossed without it. I think you are a smart person and could use this blog as a means to get important messages acrossed, as I can see people really listen to what you have to say.

In my opinion I think that Palin is a liar in a lot of things she has to say, but I feel that all politicians are liars, they say what you want to hear. Obama is against gay marriages also, I think everyone is over looking this. Right now we need a leader that can get us out of this mess that Bush has gotten us into.

  11. Rock on! I’m not a Christian because I believe the whole Jesus thing is more like a fairy tale. I do believe in “God” so to speak or some kind of high power. And he doesn’t give a shit if I swear or fuck or think gay people are the bomb. God=love. Plain and simple.

Keep preaching it girl! Most Christian’s are hypocritical asses who judge more than any of us heathens.

  12. FUCK THE FAKE CHRISTIANS!
I’m with you babe, those FAKE FUCKING CHRISTIANS who claim that homos are wrong, liberals are Godless, and the only way to heaven is by being obedient to their bullshit are going to get a BIG SURPRISE when they meet their maker – GOD IS EVOLUTION and JESUS WAS A LIBERAL REVOLUTIONARY!

The STUPIDEST thing about American Christians is that they don’t actually read the Bible. They read the KJV New Testament, which is the most badly translated sacred text OF ALL TIME. Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and Muslims ALL READ THEIR HOLY BOOK IN THE LANGUAGE IT WAS WRITTEN IN. Duh. The KJV has been translated 3 times from 4 or more languages. It is NOT THE INERRANT WORD OF GOD. For that you need to read Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew BITCHES!

I’ll give you a GREAT example. The word HELL does not appear in the original Bible. There are 3 words which are randomly translated into the word hell – and there doesn’t seem to be methodology to why they chose to do this. The first word is “grave”, the second is the name of a garbage dump in Jerusalem, and the third is the word “hades” – which means the underworld where everyone goes (regardless of good or bad) after they die. THE STUPID FUCKING CHRISTIANS ARE CLAIMING THAT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HELL WHEN HELL DOESN’T FUCKING EXIST IN THE BIBLE. Dumbasses.

READ YOUR OWN FUCKING BOOK – THE REAL ONE. Oh… I guess that means you would have to learn 3 languages and EDUCATE yourself to do it. Oh well. DUMB FUCKING FAKE CHRISTIANS!

I’d like to see ALL THE CHRISTIANS ACT LIKE CHRIST. Seriously. Give your shit away. Eject the moneylenders from the Temple. Feed the hungry. Clothe the poor. Heal the sick. Take care of the prostitutes.

FUCKING WALK YOUR TALK ASSHOLES. Otherwise you are not a “christian” – you’re just an idiot.

  13. Damn. If Christians are anything like you then I’m glad I’m not a christian… you sound like you have anger management issues and I think your God wouldn’t like the nasty way you talk.

However, I have many christian friends that are supportive of gay marriage. So, it’s a bit hypocritical of you to lump them all together. Not all Christians believe the same thing. Just like not all non christians..

  14. This is in no way in line with what the Bible says. Those of you reading this, please search the bible yourselves for the truth.

Ms Cho, you should be careful about what you say about God and his word. It’s not something to take lightly. You will be before him, and you will have to answer to what you have said.

    Revelation 22:18-21
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book;and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.He who testifies to these things says, “Yes,I am coming quickly ” Amen Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

  15. Oh Michelle go suck an egg and leave Margaret alone, spread your judgment and fear somewhere else… obviously Margaret (and many others) are not interested. Freak.

  16. I’m not fearing or judging. Just putting truth out there. The bible tells believers that when another believer is not walking in line with the scriptures we are to point that out to them.

I’m just looking out for her, and wanting to make sure people understand the things she says are not at all how God views things. It’s christian’s responsibility to make sure that his word is not confused. I was told a lot of false things when God first saved me, but after really digging in the word I found that I was being taught wrong. I was able then to find great freedom in truth. Please I urge each of you to seek the truth. Please don’t listen to other people thought and opinions even mine.

  17. My God also created you Margaret..and I am damn glad…you cut through the crap and say it like it is…I would say you should be President..but I am Canadian…hhmmm I am thinking you would make a kick ass Prime Minister….LOVE YA and can’t wait to see you when you come to Calgary in October!

  18. Wow I don’t even know where to start. Great job Margaret at misleading everyone! Just because there are a lot of wacked out people out there that call themselves a Christian doesn’t mean that it should be a reflection on all Christians. This post really saddens me because it shows how far man has fallen and how people have distanced themselves from the truth.

No matter what you do in your life God is going to still love you. Thats the ONLY thing that I agree with you on. He has an unconditional love for ALL of us. Gay or straight he loved us just the same. Its not the sinner he hates its the sin. You say you don’t fear God? Well, after this post I think you need to because you disrespected him on so many levels.

You have a really messed up view on what Christianity is all about and if you really, truly loved God you will ask him for forgiveness for your blog.

  19. I find the hate and intolerance here – in the replies to Margaret’s rant – disturbing, as it comes from those purporting to be tolerant. Your tolerance – if it has intergrity – must extend toward those with whom you most disagree – which, in this case, would include conservative christians. Perhaps that is why so few follow Jesus: because that way is challenging, it is hard. We don’t get to decide whom to love; our love must be as vast as his was/is. So, breathe deeply, let go of the viciousness, and discover a third way, a new path, that inhibits polarization and frees us to embrace the unlovable within ourselves, so we can extend that love to others. Please, try. — From a radically inclusive christian of the United Church of Christ.

  20. Holly-to bring up the point about Leviticus. You need to read Chapter 11 of Acts where Peter has an encounter with God in which God tells him not to call anything unacceptable that God calls acceptable. Also read Chapter 15 where he goes on to say that the Holy Spirit (one of the Trinity) says that all things are now acceptable EXCEPT “…eating the food offered to idols, consuming blood or eating meat of strangled animals and SEXUAL IMMORALITY.” For a list of what sexual immorality entails, see Leviticus Chapter 18, where God CLEARLY spells it out.

Now Dakini, I was a theology major and the KJV is actually the most true to text form of the Bible. I don’t prefer it, but I always use it and a good Hebrew and Greek Dictionary to back up my own Bible, which is easier for me to understand.

The bottom line for me is that I can’t take out one part of the Bible and claim the rest is true. It doesn’t work like that. The Bible says, “The WORD was God.” Christians don’t really have to argue on the basis of the Bible being right or wrong. As a Christian we believe that the Bible is automatically right. That is faith. The same kind of faith you have for believing that whatever you believe is right is right.

I am not judging in any way whatsoever. Just stating facts. Thanks.

  21. Let me just say this: to all the idiots out there who say the Bible is the inerrant, infallible word of God, THEY ARE WRONG. There are COPIOUS inaccuracies and contradictions in the New Testament alone, even with something so HUGE as the resurrection story. Case in point:

Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts; take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep.
    (Matthew 10:9-10)

He told them: ‘Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic.’
    (Luke 9:3)

These were his instructions: ‘Take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in your belts. Wear sandals but not an extra tunic.’
    (Mark 6:8-9)

So Matthew and Luke tell me not to wear sandals and to not bring a staff, but Mark tells me that I DO need to wear sandals and that I DO need to bring a staff. Which is it??

Even then, this was a pretty trivial oversight. Moving on to something MUCH bigger; the story of Christ’s resurrection…

“But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” – Mark 14:28

‘Don’t be alarmed,’ he [the angel] said, ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, “He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” – Mark 16:6-7

    Matthew and John (respectively):

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said […]

Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples by the Sea of Tiberias [Galilee]. It happened this way: […]

BUT, Luke describes something very different…

“While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’ They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. [… Jesus speaks, eats a fish to prove his corporeality …] Then he [Jesus] opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, ‘This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.’”

Notice that last sentence in the passage… So Jesus commanded them to stay, but they left anyway? What’s the story with that one? You’d think that if Jesus actually told them to stay, they would have stayed, but according to Mark and Matthew, they left for Galilee… What’s up with that?

And these are just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many other various contradictions in the Bible, ranging from Jesus condemning the consumption of foods used in sacrifice (which Paul later okays) to whether or not homosexuality as depicted in the Bible is actually even the same homosexuality we understand today.

In closing, fundamentalist Christians are idiot hatemongers who really have no foundation upon which to spew their vile, vitriolic hatred. You would do well to emulate Jesus, but taking the Bible literally is very dangerous indeed.

  22. I don’t believe in your Margaret Cho. Your Margaret Cho is angry and hostile and cusses too much. MY Margaret Cho is sweet and nice and never raises her voice. And she doesn’t support the gays. You guys can keep your lousy Margaret Cho and I’ll go hang out with my Margaret Cho. She’s the REAL Margaret Cho, I know because she told me she was 😛

I just have never seen it put so perfectly into words before! Amazing! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
    peace,
    Jamie

  26. Everything about this post as well as some of these comments reminds me of a quote Mahatma Ghandi…”I like your Christ, but I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ.”

Rock on Margaret! This post and I…we’re now BFF.

  27. You’re disgusting. I am a Christian, and to me that means a personal relationship with Christ that does not involve using HIS name in vain. You are a perfect example of why more people than you realize will never know Christ. You state that you are a Christian, but living the example is not published through the words you write. John 3:16 states the whosoever believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life. But the verses don’t stop there. There are verses that we read as Christians that teach us to behave in the way Christ would behave. We are made in his image, and we are to replicate this image in actions and words. You have shown neither.

  28. God and Goddess bless you. But try not to let these people get to you so much something like this could increase the attacks. Just remember you ar eloved and are lovely!

Remember all the compliments and forget the rude comments!

    Lots of love,
    Katt

  29. Grant–I could write a really long essay about how verses can be taken out of context to seem contradictory, but I will just give you one example. Your first example, Matthew 10 ACTUALLY says…” a traveler’s bag with an EXTRA coat or sandals…” It didn’t say don’t bring sandals. I could refute every one of the claims you wrote, but really, what is the point? Like I said before, if you don’t believe, you don’t believe.

Some of you keep writing that if we Christians really knew Jesus and who he hung around with we wouldn’t be judging anyone. Well let me ask you this, what in my comment was judgemental? Did I give my opinion on anything? Also, if you believe that Jesus hung out with all sorts of bad people (like I do) then why do think he did? He came to fulfill the testimony in Isaiah (written hundreds of years before, mind you). He came to SAVE THE WORLD by DYING ON THE CROSS and TAKING OUR SIN UPON HIMSELF. So in order to believe in Jesus (because there is no way to believe he was just a man–you’d have to discount the majority of proven history on him to do this) you must in fact believe that YOU ARE A SINNER. I AM A SINNER. WE ARE ALL SINNERS. So I was not judging Margaret Cho in anyway. Just saying that a sinner is a sinner.

You Grant on the other hand, called me an idiot. So I think YOU might be the hate-monger. I think there are millions of “Christians” out there that use their “belief” to spew hate on many (crusades, anyone?). However, there are that many more people who use their cynicism to do the same. I think that believing in Jesus Christ is acknowledging that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you can do to get into Heaven. That is the faith that I have in Christ. That my imperfections will be made perfect in HIM ALONE. I hope that you will get to know MY Jesus. Thanks.

One last thing and this has nothing to with the Bible. In our society, it is common for people who can’t make a logical comment sound off a bunch of explicatives in a fit of childish anger. You could be the smartest person on the planet, but when you do this, it looks really ignorant. You might want to watch that Margaret.

  30. Christians sure do a lot of internet searches with the work “fuck”, to find this place… Shouldn’t y’all be reading the Bible instead of all this profanity? Better check some porn sites, too, while you’re at it. So many sinful things going on there, take a good long look so you’ll know better how to judge it and lead those poor pornstars to Christ! 🙂

Have something to add?
