Waking Up

The rest of the country is waking up to something that many of us have known for a long time. The Bush Administration does not care about poor people or black people. It is evident in their flagrant disregard for these communities ravaged by the hurricane. The delayed response for emergency services clearly shows how little our government cares, and how little our government is willing to do for us, unless they are trying to cover up for their own faulty decision-making. I am glad they have finally fucked it up so bad they can’t begin to recover from it no matter how many times Bush flies over the Gulf Coast, but it unfortunately had to impact those who least deserved it. The poor were not responsible for Bush being in office, but they are the ones who had to pay the ultimate price for it. The media is trying to cover for themselves too. One of the photos linked to in the previous post has been taken down. The racism in our nation has flooded our collective consciousness, and the horrors that lie underneath these waters are far more grisly than anything that will be found in Katrina’s wake.
