All kinds of Christians are getting mad about my Sarah Palin comments, and it is pissing me off.

First of all you – you fucking fake Christians – don’t fucking question my Christianity. I grew up in the church. My grandfather was a minister, who is with God now and talks to me in my dreams from God’s corner office. I am a former Sunday school teacher. I taught the Bible to children and showed them how to love God and invite him into their hearts. I believe in God – but I don’t fear him. God is my best friend. God is my ally. God is my boyfriend. God is my best fag. I am God’s fag hag cuz didn’t you know, God is a big fag. Serious bottom too. Butch in the streets, femme in the sheets. That is my God. God is my biggest fan. God gets me, dude.

God wants us all to just get along. He doesn’t give a shit about the profanity. The bitch fucking invented profanity. He thinks it is hilarious. He just wants you to talk to him, and he doesn’t care what you have to say. He just wants to keep the conversation going. Like Jay-Z, he just wants to love you. He just wants you to be able to make your own decisions. God is all about you and what you need. God is happy that you are gay. God made you fucking gay cuz he thinks it is awesome. God understands if you need to have an abortion. That is why he created abortion, on the 8th day. God accepts. God forgives. God loves all of us, even though some of us might have a problem with each other.

Don’t fucking question my Christianity you fucking idiot assholes. If you continue to have a problem, then talk to God about it, not me, you fucking racist homophobic misogynist fake Christian shitheads. God thinks it is funny that I swear so much. He said I could use his name in vain or whatever. He just wants me to use it. He loves me. So fuck you. And I guess he loves you too. Even though you are fake Christian assholes. If you were truly Christians, you would let gays get married, and send them fucking presents from Bed Bath and Beyond!

    I think if I would change anything I’d change the title to “I DO believe in God, you fuckers!” Because I am so sick of people thinking there are only two religions in the world: Christianity and Atheism. The majority of people in the world who practice a religion that believes in God are not Christian, but that doesn’t mean they are Atheist (as American culture would have one believe).     I was raised Catholic and very much respect my Christian brothers and sisters, just like I respect my Buddhist and Hindu brothers and sisters, etc. That’s the beauty of loving God. You can forge the relationship that’s right for you, and as long as you respect the rights of other humans, you are probably on the right track.

    • For whatever this person is either he/she/or it.. sure curses alot for a “Christian” which they supposedly say they are, but I personally think Jesus Christ is a two face hypocrite God and really doesn’t comply with what is said in the Bible and truly think that Jesus was or is gay because if you think about it all his disciples were men and he never liked women. If Jesus does exist why he doesn’t put an end or at least minimize this madness and chaos we’re going through, because in reality he wants it to happen just to see how many people will seek and follow Him, I don’t know about you but I say that’s manipulating the people on his behalf like I said before Jesus is a two face hypocrite God in all phases.

  2. Hmm. This post reminds me of something written by Wolfgang Borchert, a post-WWII intellectual. He wrote something along the lines (loose translation alert) that we are given to a view of social righteousness that stresses good grammar and not eating your peas with a knife; that our sense of morality consisted of a reverence of priests and collars, and aversion to T&A. Little did we realize at the time that morality came from none of these things, but rather how we treated each other.

You don’t know Jesus very well if you think He approves of you using profanity in the same breath of “praising” Him. He’s okay with you using His name in vein, really?

    Darling, do NOT use our Lord Jesus as a tool to defend your WARPED sense of what a Christian is, maybe you have your own definition (obviously) but please do not state that you believe in Jesus, what Jesus believes, and then go on to say all the disgusting things you’ve just said. You come in His name and defy Him? Did you go over what you wrote? Do you honestly believe this utter crap?

    I usually turn the other cheek when coming across posts such as these but it’s different when someone is actually claiming to love Him and follow Him…it’s completely crystal clear to the honest Christians about who you’re really about, and it is not Jesus. I do hope the faith you do have will lead you in the right direction.

    How will you answer when God asks “What did you do with my Son?” Will you repeat what you just stated above?

    I hope you do fear Him…you have every right to.

    Oh and please don’t use the you grew up in a church and that your grandpa was a minister as some sort of back up of you actually being a Christian, that’s so weak. Being a Christian is having love in your heart and the will to go to God and the grace to accept Him in to you. Not your family and certainly not what you grew up around.

    And now for something from this little temper tantrum, if I can find a portion that is not filled with unrepeatable expletatives. Hmm, seems I couldn’t, so let’s just deal with what you said in the first paragraph, where you are chastizing people for things they’ve said, evidentaly, that you didn’t like, but in the same breath, you are telling them what not to do. Have I got that right? They shouldn’t tell you how to be or what to do, but you have the
    right to tell them what not to do. Gottcha. Pot. Kettle. Black. Moving on.

    You cannot claim to be a Christian simply because you grew up in a church. That does not make you a Christian. Your grandfather was a minister. Great, he may have been a Christian, but that hardly speaks to your status. You used to teach Sunday School. I would hope you did not use the kind of language in the classroom that you use here. But that aside, that still does not mean you are a Christian. Just slinging the word “Christian” around is meaningless unless someone knows exactly how you mean it. Simply put, being a Christian means you are a follwer of Christ. It takes little common sense to realize that a true Christian would not use the f-bomb period, let alone use it every other word.
    That is a given. A true Christian would read and know the Bible and realize that abortion (murder) is wrong, and that homosexuality is wrong. Both are clearly spelled out, and there is really no way to mis-interpret those positions, unless you either ignore them, or simply don’t like what the Bible says about them. If you were a Sunday School teacher, I
    would think you would be aware of those scriptures. I would think you would be familiar with this scripture:

    Ephesians 5:4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

    Wow. No coarse talk. And you say you were a Sunday School teacher? Where did you receive your credentials from? A person who is truly a Christian believes in two things:

    Firstly, they believe that Jesus is the Son of God, born of a virgin, died on the cross to save us from our sins, was resurrected on the third day, and ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of God. The same God that you profane and lower to the basest of levels in this blog.

    Secondly, A true Christian believes in the Bible, that it is the complete and divinely-inspired word of God.

    If you do not believe in these things, you are not a Christian. You can use the word, but it is pretty meaningless when your behavior demonstrates otherwise. We are told we will know people by their fruit. Since you claim to be a Christian, is this the fruit you want to be known by? I leave you with a couple more scriptures to consider:

    Matthew 15:13 He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. 14 Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”

    Your blog would be funny, if the things we are talking about were not so deadly serious, and if not for the fact that your understanding of them is so limited, mis-guided, and frankly, kind of pathetic. Do yourself a favor. If you still have a Bible, find it and start reading it. If you don’t have one, get one and start reading it. Find out what it says and then, perhaps, you will be a little more qualified to say who is and is not a Christian, because right now? You don’t have a clue.

I am a “small c” Christian. I live a life that Jesus would be proud of. I raise my children and my family. I work for children with disabilities and I am my brother’s keeper. I show my faith through deed rather than by word. I believe that the bible is a book with many many important teachings but I also know enough history to know that by no means is what you are reading now a factual document to be taken literally. Some of the things in the Bible MAY have occurred, other probably not. Politics then just as now effect things. We know there were other gospels. We know that there were other movements within Christianity but unfortunately evangelicals have taken over the word christian.

    OK, I don’t swear as much as Margaret Cho does, so I had to readjust my style filter reading this–but I don’t think Jesus cares. To all those people saying MC is lying about being a Christian: Of course it’s not about whether her grandpa was a pastor or whether she was a Sunday school teacher. It’s about Margaret and God, and she’s just tried to explain a little bit of that, using words that maybe don’t show up in the hymnbook. But don’t you DARE come in here and say that someone who works for love and justice isn’t a Christian because she swears too much!

    By their fruits you shall know them. We need a hell of a lot more of this fruit called LOVE, and Margaret’s on that side. So GO Margaret.

    I don’t think God is *just* about making us happy: s/he’s got her own independent existence, with plans for what the Universe should be. One part of believing in God is usually believing that she is the Center of Everything, the Source and Ground of All. But, in the end, she plans for glory and goodness and peace and sheer beauty for the people that she loves SO MUCH. Heck, the Christian gospels tell a story about him becoming human and ending up getting tortured to death, and being OK with that, because he loved us.

    And you know what? Our ideas about God are always changing. Constantly! Our job is to learn how to deal with the changes, because we never have the final truth on what God meant to say. Have you ever read some of the sermons from the 1800s defending slavery *from the Bible*? And yet they were wrong about that. Utterly, utterly wrong. I believe that someday it will be obvious to everyone that if you love a woman, it’s not wrong just because you’re a woman yourself–just as obvious as it is that black and white and orange and purple people are equally human. (Although given the number of people on this blog calling Cho names for being Korean, we’ve still got a long ways to go on that. Fuck.)

    This is the first and greatest commandment: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all they heart and soul, and thy neighbour as thyself. On this hang all the law and the prophets. Thank you, Margaret, for saying this in 2008 English! 😀

  11. Nenya – If Ms. Cho has so much love going on, could you please show me where it’s at? Because I’m really not feeling it. She uses profanity, every other word. Yes, that certainly portrays a love for Christ and others. Believe it or not, a great many people still define profanity by what it actually is, coarse speech spewing out of the mouth of someone who has no creativity, no other way to express themselves except in the basest of terms, and someone who has no regards or respect for anyone else but themselves.

    Ms. Cho is a hate-monger. Hate mongers do not show a love for Christ in their behavior. Ms. Cho attacks and rails against anything she doesn’t like or believe in. She displays the very behavior that she says she dislikes and wants to change. That is not love, by any stretch of the imagination, it is simply hate. She does exactly what she accuses others of, and expects people to simpy overlook the hypocrisy of it. She calls anyone who says homosexuality is wrong a “homophobe” when the truth is, the only way a person is a “homophobe” is if they openly advocate harsh punishment or violence towards those who are gay. Since she has openly called Sarah palin a “homophobe” and I have not heard Sarah Palin advocating stoning homosexuals, she hardly fits the bill as a “homophobe.” Simply saying that homosexuality is wrong is not being a “homophobe” so that would have been another chunk of Ms. Cho’s credibility that you just heard crumbling away.

    Someone is not a Christian simply because someone says they are. There are certain criteria to be be met, mainly having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, accepting Him as your Lord and Savior, and believeing in the Bible as the full and divinely-inspired word of God. If one does not believe those two things, they are not a Christian, even with a small “c.” Kate, and others saying they can be Christians because they are “good people” can rationalize all they want, that does not actually make them “Christian.” Ms. Cho can scream to the heavens that she is Christian, and perhaps even convince herself that she is correct, but God is not fooled, and neither are those who still have discernment and can tell the good from the bad, and the false from the true. Unless Mr. Cho, yourself and others repent and get a clue as to what being a Christian is really about, you are in for one big, ugly surprise. There is only one way to God, and that is through His Son, Jesus Christ.

  12. More food for thought: I am putting this up on my own blog, and I know that Ms. Cho will not mind me posting it here, because, after all, she is a Christian, and full of, like, love and stuff. . .

    What is a Christian?

    The answer these days seems to be: Whatever you say it is or want it to be! Let me begin by saying that I do not view or accept Christianity as a “religion” in the secular worlds definition of the term. The secular world sees it as, and classifies it as such, but I accept the reality that being a true Christian is the only way that one can be reconciled with God and receive eternal life. But looking at it in the secular world’s view as a religion, it is still clear that to be a “Christian,” there would be certain criteria that had to be met. A couple of brief examples to set the stage:

    Muslims have very specific beliefs. The two main cornerstones of Islam are the Quran and belief in Allah. If you do not believe in the Quran, and you do not believe in Allah, you are not a Muslim. You can call yourself a Muslim, you can tell others you are Muslim, but in reality you are not Muslim.

    Buddhists believe, universally in the teachings of Buddha, and they do not believe in a creator God, so if one does believe in a creator God, and does not believe in the works of Buddha, one can say they are a Buddhist, but in fact, they are not.

    Being an adherent of any “religion” requires a specific set of beliefs and teachings be believed in and adhered to. So let’s look at the Wikipedia definition of Christianity:

    “A Christian is a person who adheres to Christianity, a monotheistic religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament and interpreted by Christians to have been prophesied in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament.”

    The above definition is the secular world’s litmus test for what being a Christian means. You have to be a follower of Jesus Christ, and follow the Bible.

    To illustrate what I am talking about, here are a couple of actual examples from an un-named blog:

    “i am christian because i believe in being a good person. i am christian because i am accepting of all people, no matter what race, religious background or ideals. i am christian because i apply myself, as a kind, loving person to everything i do and have made my own successful path in life.”

    Now to point out a few things: As to the first one, this person is 100% correct in that we should certainly be displaying our belief in and love for Jesus through deeds and not just giving Jesus lip service, per James 2:14-22. That assertion is correct. However, notice what is missing, a personal relationship with Jesus and this person does not believe in the Bible. As for other gospels, Galatians 1: 8 & 9 are pretty clear on other gospels. Do not pursue them and do not accept them.

    In the second example, the person thinks they are a Christian because they are a “good person.” There is nothing about Christ, nothing about the Bible. There is nothing about repentance or salvation in either example.

    Simply put, being a Christian means believing in Jesus Christ, and believing in the Bible. This is the secular world’s definition, so even from society’s viewpoint, if one does not believe those two things, one is not a Christian, so why do so many people wish to view themselves as Christians, or call themselves Christians when they, by definition, are not Christians? Why do these same people object, become angry or still profess to be Christian when given the actual definition of what being a Christian is, and being shown their assertions do not stand when held up to the light?

  13. As a Christian, I get your appoint, the cussing is a bit much for my taste, but I get your point. I am a Christian who tries to live their life as Christ-like as possible in hopes that people will see the Jesus in me and want to learn more about Him. I try to accept people as they are. (I am catty and I love gossip). So because I am imperfect, I hope other people accept me without judgment. If more believers would focus on improving their walk with Christ, they would not have the time to place their judgments on others. The Christ and God I know loves everyone.

  16. I’m a Christian based in the UK (you know, an actual Christian; not someone whose parents believe in God, or who goes to church at least three times a year, but someone who acknowledges Jesus as their Lord and saviour, and who thinks it would be great if others could acknowledge the same).

    It seems to me that we are given a seriously limited time on earth, and that that the fundamental purpose of that time on earth is glorify and worship God; both Margaret Cho and Sarah Palin are in exactly the same situation, in that their major obsession in life seems to be self-glorification and self-aggrandisement. Margaret, don’t for one second say that you didn’t make your original post in the absolute and sure knowledge that you’d get several hundred messages based around the basic theme of “Go Margaret, you rock” etc. Your whole purpose of posting was to increase your own notoriety.

    Sarah Palin, in common with the vast majority of barking mad Republican US so-called Christians that I’ve come into contact with, clearly values her own messages of right-wing bigotry above those of God’s messages of love, hope, repentance, forgiveness and peace.

    So there you are, Margaret and Sarah, you’re both fundamentally the same! If you are truly Christians, spend what time you have left making sure that your lives are a daily sacrifice of worship and praise to God; live lives that put others needs first and make that your act of worship. Make his glory your priority and forget your own glorification, because it’ll soon all be gone and you’ll have nothing to show for it.

  19. Human nature being what it is…makes various posts here inevitable. We have a way of assuming that we can know everything about the Being who created us. We have to sort and file and shun and divide, but after a point it’s silly. Acts don’t save us, rules don’t save us, beliefs don’t save us..grace saves us. And our sins, perceived or real, are things to be discussed with God, and forgiven by God. No one else. We’re supposed to love, not hate. Help, not hurt. All of us fall short in some way or another. We can make the decision to stop judging and name calling and get on with life.

    Sarah is right about one thing though. I did say (which You all shall find in my Old Testament), that I am a vengeful God. Well, today, I should say I WAS vengeful. Think about it. If I really was vengeful, would I send My Son, to die on a cross and allow His blood to flow in order to wash Your sins? Do not follow what My people did to My Son – do not turn your backs on one another.

    Sarah, I also said in the Old Testament about the food I considered unclean. But why do I see you enjoying your bacon amongst many others? I believe I should have a talk with Lucifer about you, Sarah. And I shall see what he has to say about what he’s done to you. 🙂

    It is a very lonely road to walk at times to be a liberal Christian. I can’t tell people I first meet that I’m Christian because they automatically relegate me to the “intolerant Bible-thumper” pile – I only “come out of the pulpit” to them after people have gotten a chance to know me and as a result I tend to have many more pagan/agnostic/athiest/gay friends than regular Christians, because many of them understand what being demonstratively loving and compassionate is. I truly wish more Christians could be.

    Many people have done many things in the name of Christ and hopefully someday there will be a return to unconditional love, spiritual power, and standing up for right to defend those who need it instead of condemnation and hypocrisy. Thank you for showing the world that yes, Virginia, there ARE people out here who endeavor to be true Christians.

  30. I went through the whole “Christian” thing during my search for a “way” and “truth” that worked for me. I fled in horror from the hypocrites in christianity. The written words were good, but the actions arising out of the the organization supposedly based in those words were so wrong and hateful. So I did what the holy man suggested and judged the tree by it’s fruit. That was when I left christianity and searched further.

    If I had met a few like you I might have fought further.

Those that demonize you are the same ones that will jump up on a table and scream “Do you beeeleeeeve” so that all those around them will know that they are the “true” christians. They are also the ones that if it is in Faux News, that it must be true and that it is okay to belittle anyone that does not agree with their overly right winged agenda.

    Anyone who has followed you and your form of comedy appreciates that this is your style, just as each other comedian has had. I find it absurd that so many is this country are now trying to isolate and split us apart.

    Those that are saying that you are not a christian are the ones that should be worried. They can quote the bible all they want – but Jesus is the one that showed us the way.
