MISS DIRTY MARTINI, Miss Exotic World 2004, is one of the
most recognized names in new burlesque. In her native Manhattan, Miss
Martini spearheaded the new burlesque revolution with her bawdy humor,
over the top physique and classical dance training in cabaret venues
such as The Slipper Room, the critically acclaimed VaVaVoom Room, The
Supper Club, and Joe's Pub. She has been featured in venues as diverse
as Carnegie Hall and Broadway Bares to infamous New York City drag clubs
where she has been awarded a Glammy for her performances.
She is currently performing alongside the hardest working middle aged
man in showbiz, Mr. Murray Hill, among other weekly New York burlesque
venues and she proudly performs every summer in Coney Island at "Burlesque
by the Beach." In May 2001, Dirty Martini appeared at the first new
burlesque convention, "Tease-o-rama," in New Orleans, and in June, won
the Sally Rand Award for Fan Dance at the world's only burlesque museum
and hall of fame in California, as well as first runner-up for Miss
Exotic World in 2003 before winning the title in 2004. She has performed
with The Velvet Hammer Burlesque at the El Rey Theater in Hollywood
and was the headlining act at Tease-o-rama in 2006.
Miss Martini has been presented as a headliner in cities all over the
US where new burlesque continues to thrive and has helped to bring the
art of American striptease to Europe, where she has been featured in
"New Burlesque Cabaret" in France and in London's west end with "The
Immodest Tease Show." She has been featured in the books "Striptease,
from Gaslight to Spotlight," "Burlesque, the New Bump and Grind," and
"New Burlesque," by Katherina Bosse. Look for Miss Martini in John Cameron
Mitchell's latest film Shortbus and in AMC's original show, Into
Character. Her performance at Exotic World 2006 is currently being
featured on Comcast On Demand.
